My Dog Won't Eat

I get a surprising amount of clients who have issues getting their pets to eat.  This seems unusual to me because all the pets in my life have seemed insatiable. Even my cats want to eat all the human food they can get. Most people assume that their pet is picky and the food is the issue. Then they spend lots of money trying every different kind and flavor of food possible but there is often something else going on. Animal Communication can help you understand the reasons behind your pet's behavior.

One dog told me that he only wants to eat if it is a reward for a hunt.  He is a dachshund so it makes sense that this is part of his DNA.  The way to address this is having a vigorous play session right before meal time.  That also helps give him a cue that it is going to be meal time soon and sets a routine.

Another dog communicated that his parent sets the food down and then walks away.  He feels like he has to choose between following his owner and going to his food.  The client told me the next day that she fed her dog and then sat down with him and ate just fine. I have had multiple pets say that they want to eat with their family or they want the meal to be an event.  They like thinking their person is cooking their food and making it special or they literally want to eat at the table.

Then there are always animals who do have something to say about the food. A cat who refused to eat wet food said it tasted metallic, like the can.  I suggested finding something that comes in plastic containers or frozen raw food.  A dog who had a sensitive stomach was hesitant to eat anything because she didn't know what was going to make her feel sick.  Her owner had some medicated treats that she wouldn't eat but in the session I explained that these treats would help her, she ate it right away.
